Desire 2 Learn (D2L):

The move to Desire2Learn is almost complete. This session will explore some of the similarities and differences between D2L and WebCT. This is a great session if you have not seen D2L but plan on teaching online in the near future. All online and web enhanced course will be offered via D2L starting with the summer session, THIS IS A REVIEW OF DESIRE 2 MOVE. |
Student Cyber Experience at SDSU

Emerging Technologies: Camtasia & SRS Clickers
Presenter: Jim Lurvey & Dr. Jason Kemnitz
One of the primary needs in a classroom is student engagement. The SRS clicker and Camtasia Studio offer two methods of engaging your students in a face to face and online classroom. This session will discuss the various uses and features of the SRS Clicker and Camtasia including using SRS clickers in tandem with WebCT and D2L, as well as using Camtasia to engage your students through the use of flash based quizzes and visually narrated notes.

This presentation is intended to update participants knowledge of current copyright issues in relation to electronic information and will include issues relating to copyright and the Internet, deep linking and databases. The impact of the TEACH Act will also be investigated. |

Active Learning

Join the politically incorrect as we examine “differnt” definitions of active learning, assess the fit between online education and active learning, and identify resources that may be used to engage students. Finally, we will discuss strategies faculty may use to maintain sanity in an active learning, online environment. |
Technology Application
Presenter: Dr. Janet Johnson
We can experience active learning not only in the F2F classroom but also in online classes. Active learning can involve the individual learner, a group of learners, or the whole class. The use of Camtasia, electronic flashcards with audio, annolighting, class blogs, and interactive assignments are some of the applications of technology to be presented in this session. |

Understanding & Using Elluminate

SDSU has a campus-wide license for Elluminate Live. Elluminate Live allows instructors to real time narrate a Power Point presentation or communicate with students online with this web conferencing system. Students may participate in the Elluminate Live presentation with two-way audio, video, text messaging, a shared whiteboard, surveys, quizzes and more. This session will cover support resources, training, and some features of Elluminate Live |
