Exemplary Courses
Session will provide an introduction to best practices in course design, interaction and collaboration, assessment and evaluation, meaningful technology use, and learner support. Included will be a sampling of example exemplary courses.

Teaching Learning Center (TLC) Faculty Development Opportunities
Session will cover faculty development activities offered by TLC such as conferences, discussion series, learning communities, and others.

Technology-Enhanced Classroom
(MONDAY ONLY)
Session will provide faculty members the opportunity to learn what technologies are available in technology-enhanced classrooms, how to use them to enhance teaching, and how to get support and training resources.

Snap Survey Software
Session will provide a brief overview of Snap Survey’s capabilities. From questionnaire design to final analysis, this is a suite of fully integrated programs for all types of surveys. You’ll see how easy it is to use. It is simple to set up and it provides the tools you’ll need to help build a paper- or web-based questionnaire.

Enhancing Teaching with Video and Audio
Session will cover video capturing, rendering, how to transfer Mini-DV to DVD or VHS for PC and Macintosh machines. See how to scan images, documents, and slides. See an overview of audio editing with Adobe Audition where one can capture material from records, cassettes, and CDs.

Course Casting
Podcasting allows anyone with a microphone and an Internet connection to create audio files that others can download automatically to their iPods or other digital-audio players. Session will cover resources for faculty members who want to learn more about podcasting technology, technical support, and related issues.

Grade Book
You can perform complex grade calculations more easily in Microsoft Excel instead of using WebCT. Session will over copying and pasting the WebCT Manage Students grade book into Excel, performing desired calculations, saving the file as .csv, and importing the .csv file into WebCT using Add/Import Students.

Adding Quality to the Online Class
Hands-on session that focuses on self-assessment of an online class. The session will include an explanation of the quality assurance rubric and the opportunity to “test drive” the rubric in a mock course.

Gateway Solution: Mobile Teaching/Learning
Session will provide faculty the opportunity to learn about the standardized configuration for SDSU laptop computers. Faculty members also can learn how the mobility features of the new tablet computer can enhance their teaching and benefit students' learning process.
